Executive of the Year Announced
1 September 2009
EWI of Des Moines congratulates Roger Soener, Executive of Member Firm FBL Financial, on being named the 2009 Executive of the Year. Roger was honored at Executive’s Night, the formal finale of the EWI year. Roger was nominated by his co-worker and friend, Michelle Cook, who has been involved with EWI of Des Moines for the past five years.
Michelle’s nomination letter stated, “Roger has the positive attitude a leader should possess. Hardly a negative word is spoken…unless the Hawks lose! While our department is small, half of us have been there over 15 years, which I think is a direct testament to Roger’s management skills.” She also wrote, “Our company has been a member of EWI since 2004 and Roger allows me to volunteer my time at our various events, and the time to attend monthly meetings. I believe everyone in our department, especially me, is proud to work with someone like Roger. His dedication and positive outlook makes it a pleasure to come to work. Roger is an honest and caring individual who runs our department with fairness and commitment to both his employees and our company.”
Roger says, “FBL is pleased to be able to support the efforts of EWI. The professionalism and philanthropic efforts of EWI enrich the lives of many. EWI clearly makes our community better.”
It is Executives like Roger and Firms like FBL Financial that help make our organization stand out among the myriad of professional development and networking groups.
