The Des Moines Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) recently awarded its ASIST (Adult Students in Scholastic Transition) Scholarships. The purpose of the scholarships is to provide assistance to adults in the community who are in transitional situations or who are in need of financial aid in order to further their education. Three individuals who were chosen to receive a total of $4,000 in scholarships. The recipients are: Sara Brauckman $2,500; Shawna Snuggs $1,000 and David Perrine $500. All are attending Mercy College of Health Sciences. Sara Brauckman was also awarded the EWI Corporate ASIST Scholarship! Executive Women International (EWI) is a professional business organization that brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of promoting member firms. Congratulations!! Congratulations to Robin Mckinney and Meghan Sabin of Flynn Wright on their promotions!! Robin was promoted to Media Buyer and Meghan was promoted to Account Executive. The next Purely Social Event is Wednesday May 12 at the Gateway Market West. There will be live music by Tony Valdez and microbrews and wine are just $2. Come enjoy some music, beverages, socializing , and fun! Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year! Feed Energy Co. and Iowa Network Services have been recognized as the most successful companies in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year contest. The companies were named in a group of 25 finalists that were recognized for jobs creation, corporate growth, development and innovation in the competition's Central Midwest region and will now continue on for consideration on a national level. Congratulations to them both! Flower Sorting and Pick Up! Flower storing is on May 5 at 9:00 am at Flynn Wright. If you would like to help out with unloading the truck or at pick up time, please contact Paulette at 241-5867. You also need to pick up your flowers between 4-6 pm that same day and place. Flynn Wright is located at 501 SW 7th Street. Scholarship Program EWI has a scholarship program that is offered to adult students who are in scholastic transition. The Des Moines EWI Chapter participates in this program each year. Information about the scholarships is sent to local colleges and resource centers where adults who may be in scholastic transition are receiving assistance. Last year a couple of the applicants were a result of referrals from our members so we thought it would be a good idea to send the scholarship information to you.
