Firm Night at IFMC!
1 August 2011

Elaine Rund hosted the Firm Night at IFMC on August 1, 2011. Denise Sturm, CFO and Peg Mason, VP of Health Management provided a thorough explanation of Health Care Management and how IFMC uses their expertise to take Clinical Data Information and translates it to usable Technical Intelligence. Kyla Lenze, Sr. Director of Facilities Operation provided a tour of the facility. Photos from the evening can be viewed here. It always was the evening where members donated school supplies for YESS.

Congratulations to our member firms;

• Meredith Corp was recognized by the Make a Wish Foundation as a Corporate Alliance Partner.  Meredith has established an affinity program for the charity
• DM Int’l Airport finished updating it’s website.  New features include tracking a flight in the air and deals on rental cars.  A mobile site has been added also.
• Wellmark’s corporate headquarters in Des Moines has received LEED® Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which makes it the only LEED Platinum certified office building of its size in the world
• Waste Management (WM) has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the 2011 World’s Most Ethical Companies for the fourth year in a row. Out of a record number of nominations for the award, WM secured a hard-earned spot on the list as the only environmental services company recognized for going the extra mile and upholding upright business practices and initiatives that are instrumental to the company’s success, benefit the community, and raise the bar for ethical standards within the industry.

EWI Celebrates 40 Years!

Our Des Moines Chapter of EWI is very proud to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. We were chartered on April 5, 1971. We will celebrate this event at our April 4th Chapter Meeting and hope to see many past presidents and firm executives there. It is exciting for us to have 4 of our Charter Member firms still active in EWI: Josephs Jewelers, Iowa Credit Union League, KPMG and the Renaissance Savery Des Moines Hotel. Good news everyone! Sarah Roeder had her baby girl this morning. Elissa Nicole came into the world on February 4, 2011 @ 7:53 a.m. She weighed 6 lb 15 oz and is 19.5" tall.
